Fourth Six Weeks

                                        Third Grade
 
Math:  Workbook pages 189 -294 (multiplication and division tables 8 through 12, averaging, converting measures, adding and subtracting fractions with same denominator and reducing answers, adding and subtracting decimals, place value to thousandths, concept of area, kilogram, gram, liter, kilometer, types of angles, and multiplying 3-digit factors by 2-digit factors).
Saxon 54 (fifth/fourth grade math) - 100 simple addition problems in 5 minutes, Lessons 1 and 2, making A+ on them.  He likes the A Beka workbook better.
 
English:  Lessons 34-45 (irregular verbs, past and present tense, quotation marks for thoughts). Finished third-grade Learning Language Art through Literature.
Fourth-grade A Beka
God's Gift of Language A (writing and grammar) Units 1-4 and part of 5 (recognizing and writing good sentences, writing letters, gathering information by ovserving and by reading, using an encyclopedia, writing a report, punctuating.
 
Spelling:  A Beka Spelling 4 Lesson 1("i before e except after c" and five words).
 
Mindbenders:  Finished the B-1 book.
 
Reading:  Peretti's Island of Aquarius and Tomb of Anak, Boxcar Children The Dog Show and The Mountain Top Mystery, Bunyon's Pilgrim's Progress (children's version, not finished yet), Boy's Life, Weekly Reader, and Exploring God's World news magazine.
Hear read:  Lewis's
The Horse and His Boy and The Magician's Nephew, and reading Carol Brink's Caddie Woodlawn and Lamb's Genghis Khan.
 
History:  Fourth-grade A Beka The History of Our United States: Years of Discovery.  Have library books on the discoverers to learn their stories.
 
Science:  Flight, atoms, sun, and heat units from classes at Science Project.
 
Art:  Learned primary colors.  Have materials to make sand modeling dough.
 
SWDHSA Field Trips:  Ice skating, Dr. Pepper plant tour, Sandy Lake Animal Hospital, Las Colinas movie studio.
